How It Works
How does the CleanBot R1 attach to the window?
The CleanBot R1 uses a powerful 6,500Pa vacuum suction motor to create a holding force of 6–7kg (13–15 lbs) against the glass. This is called Gravity-Grip Technology. The suction is strong enough to hold the robot securely on vertical glass of any size — including large patio doors and conservatory panels.
How does it know where to clean?
Before it moves, the CleanBot R1 scans the window and uses AI Auto Path-Mapping to calculate the most efficient route. It automatically selects from three cleaning algorithms:
- N-Shape — vertical sweeps for tall windows
- Z-Shape — horizontal sweeps for wide windows
- Hybrid N+Z — combined for large or irregular surfaces
You don't need to choose — the robot decides based on the window it detects.
What are the 4 cleaning modes?
- Quick Mode — fast light clean for regularly maintained windows
- Deep Mode — slow thorough pass for stubborn grime and dried-on dirt
- Edge Mode — precision cleaning of frames, borders, and corners
- Edge + Deep Mode — full comprehensive clean: edges first, then the whole pane
You choose the mode via the included remote control.
Does it clean both sides of the window?
Yes — you can use the CleanBot R1 on the inside face of your windows to clean the outer surface. For double-sided cleaning, place it on each side in turn. No ladders needed — everything is done from inside the house.
Safety
Is it safe to use on upper-floor windows?
Yes. The CleanBot R1 has an 8-layer safety system:
- 6,500Pa suction (6–7kg holding force)
- 8 collision sensors — detects edges and reverses automatically
- 4 anti-drop sensors — stops instantly if glass contact is lost
- 500mAh backup battery — maintains suction for 30 minutes if power is cut
- 5-metre steel-core safety rope — physical backup, included in every box
- Redundant suction monitoring, anti-slip rubber tracks, low-battery auto-return
What happens if there's a power cut while it's on the window?
The built-in 500mAh backup battery immediately takes over and keeps the suction running for up to 30 minutes — giving you plenty of time to safely remove it.
What does the safety rope do?
The included 5-metre steel-core safety rope clips from the robot to your window handle or frame. It acts as a physical failsafe — if anything were to go wrong with suction, the rope catches the robot. Always attach it before use.
Setup & Use
How do I set it up?
- Fill the water tank (or spray the window lightly with the included spray bottle)
- Attach the safety rope to your window handle
- Press the robot firmly against the glass — it locks on instantly
- Plug in the power adapter (UK plug included)
- Press your chosen mode on the remote — Quick, Deep, Edge, or Edge+Deep
- The robot scans and starts cleaning automatically
Which windows can it clean?

How much water does it use?
The CleanBot R1 has two transparent 80ml tanks (160ml combined). 160ml is enough for very large windows in a single clean. Refill takes seconds with no tools required.
How long does it take to charge?
2–3 hours from empty to full.
Maintenance
How do I clean the microfibre pads?
Remove the pad and machine wash at 30°C — no fabric softener. Air dry. The pads are rated for hundreds of wash cycles without losing effectiveness. Four pads are included in the box. Replacement pads are available in our Accessories section.
How often should I replace the pads?
Most customers replace pads every 6–12 months depending on how frequently they clean. Replacement pads are available in our Accessories store.
Orders & Delivery
How fast is delivery?
We dispatch from our UK warehouse within 1–2 business days. Standard delivery takes 2–4 business days. Express next-day delivery is available at checkout. Free standard delivery on all orders.
Do you ship outside the UK?
Currently we ship to mainland UK addresses only. Northern Ireland, Scottish Highlands, and some remote postcodes may have extended delivery times — contact us for details.
Returns & Warranty
What is the warranty?
The CleanBot R1 comes with a 24-month manufacturer warranty covering all parts, the motor, and manufacturing defects. If anything goes wrong within 24 months, we'll repair or replace it — no quibbles.
What is your returns policy?
